Questions on WIKI editing

How to replace the image of goa in the wiki, I have uploaded it but can not replace it

  • You go on edit then you see the wiki markup text. There you read the filename (goa.jpg). You need to replace the text of this file name with the text of your image.
  • For further details please read the tutorial on the help page.

How to know the exact coordinates of my chosen place and insert them in the google map photo of the wiki?

  • If you do not have a GIS or Google Earth at hand you can use Google Maps.
  • Go to the site and mark it as a new place. Then go to the ‘link’ symbol and there you get the code for embedding the map. In the code you see the coordinates.
  • Please copy/past them into the Wiki Page and replace the template coordinates. You can also read more about it on the Help page of the wiki.

Is a problem for others if I save lots of times my wiki page because I am not sure how to use everything yet?

  • No, because nobody else is working on your specific page. It can only be problematic if you work synchronously on the same page. It helps if you work on different sections of the same page in that case.

Questions concerning assignments

I am still uncertain about the case study that I should choose, I have 2 cases that are somehow close to each other in term of location, can I link both cases together in analysis? In my opinion each one does effect on the other?

  • Yes, this is an interesting approach and I would encourage you to elaborate it this way.

I uploaded a picture of a very unique Uruguayan community on the dunes. I would do a project not over that specific site, but in a plot with the same site situation, so that I would evoke or inspire on the pic image community. Is that ok?

Of course, this is a good reference.

What does it mean ‘propose a site for assignment 4’?

  • Assignment 4 should be a collaborative design and there are two options: either you choose one of the cases that have already been presented by your group members and work on a joint design proposal (or a scenario/vision).
  • Or you take a case that is new for all group members and work on this together.

What is giving feedback to the other group? On concept map or their cases?

Ideally you would give feedback on both, but not all concept maps will be finished by December. The main idea is to give feedback on the cases. You can use the ‘discussion’ tab of the respective group page.

Do you consider it right to pick up a theme about planting system on infrastructure pathways as a case study for this seminar?

  • This is very relevant, please go ahead!
