Rationale: Why have you chosen this case for the landscape and democracy seminar?
The topic of the confluence between two great rivers goes out of the scale of daily landscape, however that place was a foundation for the whole city and raise up democracy issues from different points of view. The main objectives of the case study are the contrast between landscape on different sides of the river and identifying levers for landscape development.
Left river side:
Rural flat land wthout development and human impact. The steppe extends for hundreds kilometers. Futuristic projects like «Globe Town» have been never realised on this unoccupied area.
Right river side:
Denced urban structure, mixed used: mass housing, important harbor, new stadiim project. new underground development, 6th biggest church in Russia as signinficant cultural object, former biggest Fair, large shopping centers, former techinical exibition territory'
