Rationale: Why is this case interesting?
River valleys are a feature of Tehran. They act as lungs of a city which bring fresh air from mountains. Unfortunately, there is not much attention to this natural feature in Tehran. Actually, in many parts of the city, they have been buried or, in the best conditions, their beds have been covered by non-permeable materials, under pressure in terms of extra construction and exceeding their limits. While their passing through our city provides a great opportunity to more tie people to nature and create natural habitats with a valuable biodiversity as well as socio-economic and environmental benefits, they have just struggled to survive.
