Seminar schedule

Ellen welcomed everyone to session no. 08, explained the agenda and pointed out the seminar schedule. You can find the overall seminar schedule here: Course schedule.

Guest lecture

The session started with a guest lecture by Diedrich Bruns, Kassel University: Concepts of Landscape: Historic, semantic, cultural, and other approaches

After that, Ellen and Heike introduced into Cmap Tools, a software which enables people to synchronously work on creating a common concept map. With the help of the students, they re-created the guest lecture in form of a concept map:

The session continued with the following students presenting landscape concepts from their cultural background:

• Balázs Dukai - Hungary

• Carla Tosso - Peru

• Gabriel Seah - Singapore

• Fernando Bujaidar - Mexico

• Wei Wang & Kun Zhang - China

• Hanne de Witte - Netherlands

• Beatriz Dias - Uruguay

• Suranjana Datta - India

Discussion

Afterwards, the group continued enahncing the previous concept map via Cmap Tools.

Next steps

After the discussion, Heike reminded of the next 2 steps according to Assignment 4: Landscape concepts in comparison.

FOr the second part of the assignment, the students are requested to choose articles and to form international teams.

In general, the students are asked to use their respective discussion page of the current assignment to ask questions. These sections will be checked by the group mentors on a regular basis.

Next online meeting

The next session will be on Dec 21, 2010, mainly consisting of a guest lecture by Fernando Agustoni Martinez, Montevideo / Uruguay.
