	Bangladesh is one of the most climate vulnerable countries in the world and will become even more so as a result of climate change. Floods, tropical cyclones, storm surges and droughts are likely to become more frequent and severe in the coming years. It experiences frequent natural disasters, which cause loss of life (see Box 1), damage to infrastructure and economic assets, and adversely impacts on lives and livelihoods, especially of poor people. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicts that global temperatures will rise between 1.8 C and 4.0 C by the last decade of the 21st century .		Bangladesh is one of the most climate vulnerable countries in the world and will become even more so as a result of climate change.
