			Morii Lake Island design synthesis was a collaborative process where the objective of our design was an integrated approach on socio-cultural aspect with the main goal of adding value to the historical and environmental elements of the island which have also future economic implications.

	We intended to protect and preserve the historical structures and design of the island, so on our design approach the planting design concept was crucial and the main aspect during the creative process to improve the aesthetical image of the island. Enhancing the island value through a new planting design had into account factors as the use of native and low maintenance vegetation, improving the seasonal design of vegetation, equilibrate perennial and deciduous vegetation, shade and sun zones and a community orchard. 			All this planting design characteristics were focused on creating two major areas, a sparse tree woodland (orchard) for a more enclosed atmosphere and an open lawn and meadow oriented for diverse activities, all together with a central paved area that function as a stage of a natural amphitheater.

			In this way we intended to develop the site as a multicultural and multifunctional area for the community with different kinds of leisure key activities to respond to people's different needs.
