L´Horta de Valencia is a landscape, a region and a cultural-historical-agricultural landmark. The UE, through its known report Dobris, has considered it as one of the thrity landscapes in EU.
L´Horta is a reflecion of the mediterranean culture. It was bulding by the Romans as a logistics center to supply their troops in the spanish conquest, after that, it was developed by the muslams whose built a smart and witty net of irrigation which now a days still is used by the farmers.
L´Horta is an agricultural region that has been molded by man over the centuries creating a particular and unique landscape.In Addition this land is very fertil and it allows to grow three different crops per year. That means the landscape is changing, more or less every three months so you nerver get borried of it.
Here the farmers grown the Chufa, a special plant whose tuber are used to make Horchata. This is a fresh and sweet drink that the valencians usually drink in the hot summer wiht a Farton( a long sweet bun).
Lasts years, with the city growth the Horta have been disapering and blocks of buildings has appered in its place. So more associations have moved to protect this unique and special place.

I chose this landscape for two reasons:

1- This is a familiar landscape for me, I always ride my bike there and also It take part of the Valecian Culture
2- I want to share with all of you this beatiful landscape!!!
