Nagold has today an integrated urban green infrastructure, result from the Garden Exhibition which took place in the city center in 2012. The city park and city garden are on both sides of the river Nagold and connected to another park, the Riedbrunnen, through the renaturated river Waldach as a green corridor.
This green corridor along the Waldach River, which crosses the city from north to south, stops at the Viaduct, an important landmark in Nagold landscape that cutsthe center and its periphery. Beyond the viaduct no plan or design was developedso far, what reveals a disconnection between this area and the city center.

Site selection was one of the difficult tasks in our group, because of the different perspectives and as well we imagined a different type of analysis of collaborative design. Time synchronization was a factor that has slowed down the process of our project, but until the end we managed to get through obstacles and propose a concept that fits to the chosen site in Nagold city, Germany.

Nagold has today an integrated urban green infrastructure, result from the Garden Exhibition which took place in the city center in 2012. The city park and city garden are on both sides of the river Nagold and connected to another park, the Riedbrunnen, through the renaturated river Waldach as a green corridor.
This green corridor along the Waldach River, which crosses the city from north to south, stops at the Viaduct, an important landmark in Nagold landscape that cutsthe center and its periphery. Beyond the viaduct no plan or design was developedso far, what reveals a disconnection between this area and the city center.

In the Brunnen Park, north side of viaduct, there are sport areas very uses by teenagers and a playground, each one in one side of the river. On weekends they are full of people, especially on summer, when kids also play in the Waldach’s water.

Nagolds’ City Planners together with Mr. Stefan Fromm, the landscape architect responsible for Garden exhibition project, decided to concentrate the event area around the old town until the borders of the viaduct on the south. Here the car traffic is more intensive in comparison to downtown and we see fewer pathways forpedestrians.

The quality of the green spaces in Nagold is clearly perceived in the city center and we intent to think about possibilities to expand this quality to other parts of the city. The lookout on the top of "Cerro Campanario" is apparently a very important location which offers a special over view of the city and the National Park.
It’s interesting the reflection about the changes on the landscape by the city developments and the use of local and non-local species, and how it could change the natural perception of the Park. Although we cannot see on the maps presented exactly how the city is related with its context today, it is interesting the comparison between the 2 possible scenarios. It shows a great advantage and benefit by arranging the development of plots in bigger areas, following the topography and more integrated with the natural surroundings. However the analysis of anthropic planting and non-native species selection is not clear. Anyway the graphics are very clear and understandable.

The case study is situated in the middle of the city, which makes it to be an important point of interest for the city. The park was designed in 19th century and is split into three areas, with the Hill of Oaks in the middle and it is separating the old city from the modern part. Subject issue of the analysis is relating to the three areas that do not match together, so her proposal is to transform the space for actual needs, in a natural way adnd to improve antic aspects of design. In the future she imagines a connection between the three paths that at the moment do not connect.
The park was a good choice for analyzing and a problem that needs to be solved in order to improve its future use.
The presentation helped to a better understanding of the concept design project, as Wiki page does not help much.

''Orangerie's park: a new interpretation of Karlsaue''

First of all, I did not know that there is such a famous park in Hessen, Germany until I read this case study. It is always good to know about a great landscape architecture in the current living areas.
From the information of the page, this park was initiated in 1680. So this park is more than 300 years old and the local people preserve it as their symbol of the city. Having this kind of great landscape in the neighbor makes the people’s life delightful in their everyday life. It sounds unique the Baroque structure was the residential palace and in 1785 was redesigned as a landscape garden. And he explains that this park is a hybrid of the old baroque style and the typical English garden style. That makes people to want to visit there because of not only structure but also several thing worth to see. The thing I can put my opinion here is that even though he explain a lot of color of horticultural garden and the view of the park, he did not put any drawing on his page. If he could put additional those materials, it would be much better and easier to see what is actually there and to understand what he explain on this page.
Visual material is always good to explain to the people who do not know the place or who do not have much information about it. He might change the google map point as well.

The city park and city garden are on both sides of the river Nagold and connected to another park, the Riedbrunnen, through the renaturated river Waldach as a green corridor.
This green corridor along the Waldach River, which crosses the city from north to south, stops at the Viaduct, an important landmark in Nagold landscape that cutsthe center and its periphery. Beyond the viaduct no plan or design was developedso far, what reveals a disconnection between this area and the city center.

Nagold has today an integrated urban green infrastructure, result from the Garden Exhibition which took place in the city center in 2012. The city park and city garden are on both sides of the river Nagold and connected to another park, the Riedbrunnen, through the renaturated river Waldach as a green corridor.
This green corridor along the Waldach River, which crosses the city from north to south, stops at the Viaduct, an important landmark in Nagold landscape that cutsthe center and its periphery. Beyond the viaduct no plan or design was developedso far, what reveals a disconnection between this area and the city center.

In the Brunnen Park, north side of viaduct, there are sport areas very uses by teenagers and a playground, each one in one side of the river. On weekends they are full of people, especially on summer, when kids also play in the Waldach’s water.

Here the car traffic is more intensive in comparison to downtown and we see fewer pathways forpedestrians.

It has a very small population (approx. 1500) and it contains thirty villages and three natural reservations (approx. 35 ha). The commune has a rich traditional architecture and authentic rural culture, with significant asset value at European level and a latent tourism and educational potential.''
* The theme to which I am referring is related to the natural landscape, perhaps one of the most important types of landscape that deserves a special attention due to the increasingly severe intervention on them.

Positioned at a distance of 43 km from the town Alba-Iulia, the commune attested from the Bronze Age consists of 30 villages gathered in the meadow and along the valleys or in scattered areas of the plateau. Located in the Metaliferi Mountains, the village is surrounded by mountain peaks with altitudes between 950 m and 1350 m and natural reserves: Detunata Goală, Detunata Flocoasă and Poiana cu Narcise (the Glade with Daffodils), with the adjoining villages Roşia Montană, Ciuruleasa, Lupşa and Mogoş.
Beyond the activities related to the exploitation of arable land, pastures, forests, hayfields, animal breeding and processing the resulting resources, population dealt with gold mining since ancient times until modern and contemporary age.
Traditional buildings made of wood and stone are the result of creation of local craftsmen and meets the needs, occupations and possibilities of locals.
Urban influences leaves its mark on sacred vernacular architecture, originally made with the same traditional features, except triptychs that are scattered at the crossroads.

We can conclude that, in order to save the natural landscape, cultural heritage and protection of rural heritage of this region of the Western Carpathians (Apuseni Mountains), severe measures should be taken like introducing national heritage protection legislation for landscape management, sustainable development of the natural landscape, national and international tourism promotion (as an attractive controlled touristic area). As negative examples we already have near the site the copper quarry Rosia Poieni that has been exploited and then left without greening it (acid waters are leaking in the tailings pond of Șesii Valley), and also Rosia Montana and its gold-bearing mountains are at risk of total destruction due to gold mining plans.

Nagold has today an integrated urban green infrastructure, result from the Garden Exhibition which took place in the city center in 2012. The city park and city garden are on both sides of the river Nagold and connected to another park, the Riedbrunnen, through the renaturated river Waldach as a green corridor.
This green corridor along the Waldach River, which crosses the city from north to south, stops at the Viaduct, an important landmark in Nagold landscape that cutsthe center and its periphery. Beyond the viaduct no plan or design was developedso far, what reveals a disconnection between this area and the city center.

In the Brunnen Park, north side of viaduct, there are sport areas very uses by teenagers and a playground, each one in one side of the river. On weekends they are full of people, especially on summer, when kids also play in the Waldach’s water.

The urban green structure is clear and connected in the city center and is quite intensive used by residents and visitors. However the viaduct is a strong element on landscape and seems to cut this green structure from the south part of Nagold. The river Waldach runs to the south, but has apparently no relation to its surrounding in this part.

Nagolds’ City Planners together with Mr. Stefan Fromm, the landscape architect responsible for Garden exhibition project, decided to concentrate the event area around the old town until the borders of the viaduct on the south. The neighborhood beyond this border is composed by houses and residential building, commercial area and super-market, industrial buildings, all surrounded by nature protected areas. Here the car traffic is more intensive in comparison to downtown and we see fewer pathways forpedestrians.

== What are the objectives of your design? ==

The quality of the green spaces in Nagold is clearly perceived in the city center and we intent to think about possibilities to expand this quality to other parts of the city. We will start focusing on the south part, where the gap on the green structure is more evident, exploring the area along the Waldach river.
